CIS Students Learn About Iraq War
HARRISBURG, N.C. – Melissa Gayan’s seventh grade social studies students at Carolina International School (CIS) listened intently while Lieutenant Colonel Pat Tilque presented first-hand accounts of the Iraq war. He was assigned to the 3rd Army in Kuwait as the Chief of Operations for the Engineer Staff Section from July 2003 to July 2004. He supported the reconstruction of Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Afghanistan. The presentation covered many facts, including that the United States has fixed/rebuilt more than 750 schools and 600 police stations in Iraq. LTC Tilque was commissioned as an engineer officer in the regular Army after graduating from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1987 with a bachelors of science in geography and construction management. He will be reporting to Ft. Hood next month for redeployment.
Lieutenant Colonel Patrick E. Tilque, U.S. Army, is currently working for the 108th Division (IT) in Charlotte as the Active Duty liaison for Major’s Intermediate Level Education.
