“Looking to the Future” Workshop
Last Saturday 40 CIS students, teachers, parents, and board members gathered to look to the future of our school. The all-day workshop was conducted by architects from Perkins & Will, the firm selected to develop our campus master plan.
The facilitator, Peter Brown of Dallas, has helped design schools around the world. He provided an overview of demographic, economic, and environmental trends, and then shared a host of school design concepts.
Throughout the day, participants met in small groups to brainstorm ideas and desires for our future facilities. The process will continue with workshops this week. The master plan is expected early in June.

Please Return Parent Surveys
On the upcoming NC State End-of-Grade tests (grades 3-7) we are required to list parents’educational level. We distributed a survey recently and need to compile the data as soon as possible. If you haven’t completed the survey, please do so by Friday, April 22nd.
We also sent surveys to parents with children in our after-school enrichment programs, asking your opinion about the effectiveness of those classes. Please return this at your earliest convenience so we can plan for next year.
Save-the-Date
The next Parent Education night is a Financial Planning and Advice Forum for College Savings Plans, Wednesday, May 18th with Dave Coss, Raymond Jones Financial Group.
