CIS co-ed sports programs
Fall Sports Programs at CIS for School Year 2007/2008
- Co-Ed Soccer for grades 5th thru 8th grades- this is a league program. Parent volunteers Earl King and Chad Irons will coach the team. We are very fortunate to have these two men as our coaches. We will compete in the Charlotte Gastonia Athletic Association. There will be tryouts before school starts and there will likely be practices as well. There are at least 6 home games, so plan on attending to support our soccer team!
- 9th and 10th grade soccer-Coached by Kevin Lipp (7th and 8th grade social studies teacher). This will not be a league competition this year since it is our first year in this age group. Mr. Lipp needs an assistant coach for this team. There will be practices through out the summer so you must get in touch with Mr. Lipp to give him your contact information.
- Co-Ed Intramural soccer program for grades K-8. This is a non-competitive, learning soccer program designed to help students learn soccer skills and compete later on league teams. We need parent volunteers for all of these teams.
- Girls volleyball-grades 5th thru 8th grades- this is a competitive league sport.f We compete in the Charlotte Gastonia Athletic Association. We will play all of our games at other sights due to a lack of a gym, so we will need parents support for transporting to games. We don’t have an actual head coach at this time. However, we have several parents that have volunteered to assist, Karen Powell, Donna Spohn, Tairi Lamb and Charlotte Halperin. Charlotte did coach last year, but would love to have a true head coach. We will have early tryouts for this sport, probably the 1st week in August.
For those teams that will have to practice during the summer, it is imperative that you both contact the coach or me, and get your contact information to them, so you won’t miss your opportunity to participate on these teams.
