CIS Map

CIS' goal is to construct a “high performance” building that will conserve natural resources through day lighted classrooms, water catchment systems, and other features. Research on day lighted classrooms shows a 15% improvement in academic performance, along with the reduced cost of lighting and cooling. And in the typical school building, 80% of the water is used for flushing toilets. By gathering rainwater in cisterns, that water can be used for this purpose, reducing both runoff and expenses. We want our building to be as healthy as our students, and to serve as a laboratory of good stewardship of our natural resources.
